Data Limitations
Our data is derived from satellite remote sensing (Sentinel-2), government datasets (USDA NASS, CDL), and climate reanalysis products. While we apply rigorous quality controls, this data has inherent limitations:
- Cloud cover may reduce scene availability and data quality for a given week
- Satellite sensors measure reflectance, not crop yield directly
- Crop type masks (CDL) may lag by one growing season
- County-level aggregation masks field-level variability
- Historical baselines depend on the quality and consistency of source data
- Vegetation indices are proxies for plant health, not definitive measurements
Commentary and Reports
Any written commentary, automated reports, or interpretive content provided by YieldVista represents observations based on available data. These observations are not forecasts, predictions, or recommendations. Past vegetation patterns do not guarantee future crop outcomes.
Third-Party Data Sources
YieldVista aggregates data from third-party providers including the European Space Agency (Copernicus Sentinel-2), USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, USDA Cropland Data Layer (CDL), and the Iowa Environmental Mesonet Reanalysis (IEMRE) weather grid. We do not control or guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or availability of third-party data.
No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. MTD071 LLC does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall MTD071 LLC, its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service, including but not limited to trading losses, crop losses, missed opportunities, or data inaccuracies.
